Celebrating Partnership Working That Makes a Difference - Operation Respect

At Westfield, strong partnerships are at the heart of everything we do. Over the past year, our work alongside local agencies, community groups and residents has shown what can be achieved when collaboration, creativity and kindness come together.
A senior partner from one of our multi-agency partnerships recently shared feedback that reflects the impact of this collective approach:
“Another epic year of problem solving, ideas, collaboration and support for our communities. Your success is entirely down to hard work, dedication and a genuine commitment to partnership and people.”
One of the standout moments highlighted was the Operation Respect, where families came together in a welcoming, inclusive space. Parents connected, children played, and laughter filled the area — a powerful reminder that community safety and wellbeing are built through relationships as much as enforcement. Evaluation from the event showed strong engagement and positive outcomes for residents.
The feedback also recognised the human side of partnership working — the kindness, support and solidarity shown by colleagues during challenging periods. These moments, while often unseen, are what strengthen partnerships and help teams continue to deliver for communities under pressure.
Perhaps most importantly, the year included a significant “you said, we did” moment, where determined partnership action addressed long-standing anti-social behaviour concerns. As a result, residents in Westfield can feel safer and more secure, demonstrating what is possible when agencies work together with a shared purpose and persistence.
We are incredibly proud of our staff, partners and residents who continue to work together to make Westfield a safer, stronger place to live. This feedback is a reminder that partnership working, at its best, is not just effective — it is human.
